It has been WAY too long since I posted a single thing on this blog. While I love making projects and showing off my work, I am taking a break. The summer is exceptionally busy and I am exceptionally lazy. In fact, I received a Stampin' Up! order last week and only opened the box to take out the catalog. Everything else is still sitting there. I'm not sure where or when I will get motivation to continue making cards, scrapbook pages, etc. In the meantime, I hope you find inspiration from all the other motivated, creative, wonderful women who take the time to do what they love each and everyday.

Birthday Bash Stamp-a-Stack

Stamp-a-stack classes are one of my favorite classes to have. Although I stress about which cards to make, I am always proud of the final choices. For me, showing customers different folds or techniques is the best part. I don't want anyone going home and feeling as if all their cards look the same.

Card #1:
I always try to have at least one, unique fold in each class. I was inspired by THIS CARD. Visit Jessica's blog to see how to score and create this fun fold card.

Card #2:

It's difficult for me to create a "manly" card unless I have a true "manly" stamp set. I do not own any of those, so I have to figure out an alternative. When I saw a card on my friend's blog, I knew it would be the card for this class! Of course, I never, ever have the exact stamp sets that others use, so I have to put my own unique spin on the card I make up. This is my card...

Alot of times, I fall into the trap of cutting & scoring cardstock and keeping that square, boxey look. Even though this card can be categorized like that, I think by using the scallop punch a different look was created. The In Colors are beautiful, girly colors so I used them to make up a great card to be given to a girlfriend, mother, or sister.

Why re-invent the wheel for your classes? Back in November I needed some birthday cards, so using the Animal Stories stamp set, I made THESE CARDS. For this stamp-a-stack, I CASE'd my own examples for the last of the five cards made.

Making Tiles

Although the thought of making tiles can be intimidating, this 3-D project is actually very easy. By a customer, I was asked to make twelve tiles so she could give them as Mother's Day gifts. She wanted me to keep it simple by making all of the tiles identical, even the color of the flower. Oh how I love simplicity!

There are many ways to make tiles, but this is the way I prefer. This is the first time I did not bake them. I do believe it isn't necessary to do so. To make your own tiles, follow these easy instructions:

SUPPLIES:

4"x4" non-glossy tumbled tiles (found at your local home improvement store)
Staz-On ink pad
Blender pen
Stampin' pastels
Stamp set (s) of your choice
Baby wipes
Felt pads for back
Krylon acrylic spray or aerosol hairpray

STEP 1: Wipe tiles free of dust and let dry
STEP 2: *Stamp image onto tile using Staz-On ink*
Why Staz-on? This ink is specifically used for non-porous surfaces and it doesn't run dry.
STEP 3: Using blender pen, choose pastel colors and color the image
STEP 4: In a well ventilated area, follow the Krylon instructions and spray tiles.
Why Krylon? It goes on clear, is moisture resistant and will seal the tile

*NOTE: I was pleasantly surprised when I messed up and grabbed a baby wipe to wipe of my mistake. The image came off with no trouble at all!

The tiles I bought were NOT the ones that were completely unfinished. These had a slight smoothness/glossy look to them. They were NOT the glossy ones. You can tell the difference. You may be able to use the glossy ones too, if you prefer that look. These tiles were about 38 cents each.

Spring Craft Fair 2010

WOW! Once again, it's been a while since I blogged! I am so sorry about that! Over the last few weeks, I've been working really hard for a craft fair that I participated in last Saturday. Unfortunately, there was a disappointing turn-out and I hardly had any sales. On the up side, this same craft fair has a really good turn-out in the fall, so I already signed up for that one. Mommy & Me Sweetheart Class

It's been awhile since I planned and organized a Mommy & Me class. Valentine's Day is the perfect time to do so! The projects below are the three that will be made for this particular class. Each child will make five of each to give to their special friends.

Last minute additions to Business Night...

These chocolates are decorated with various punches and put in pretzel bags. I tried to make some gender neutral bags. It's so easy to stick with pink & reds for Valentine's Day, so I went with more masculine colors. I think even those could be given to girls too!

Since there will be military women present at the Business Night, I decided to make a few cards with them in mind. These are promotion cards packaged in 3's with envelopes.

I just love the stamp set "Godspeed." I will never part with it! These cards are also packaged in 3's but each one has a different verse inside from the Service & Sacrifice stamp set. There is a difference in these cards. Can you see it? It's the color of ribbon along the side. I couldn't decide which I liked better (chocolate or spring moss) so I used both. What do you think?

There is an upcoming Business Night I was invited to attend, which I am completely thrilled about! I've been working on crafts to sell while also hoping to get a new customer base. These events really light a fire under me and motivate me to "touch my business." I'm mostly making Valentine-themed items. It's fun to stick to one holiday and work on projects surrounding it.

These nuggets tins are a favorite of mine. I figure I could make a few and possibly take orders, if need be.

Both these items are going to people who RSVP and tell me they plan on visiting my table next week.

For some reason, I didn't get around to posting these cute ornaments I made last year. They were the most popular item at the last craft fair I attended. I used strictly punches, a little bit of hot glue and string. Aren't they adorable? I charged just 25 cents for each one. What would you have charged?

Christmas Stamp-a-Stack 2009

Stamp-a-stacks are a lot of work, but certainly worth the effort! As I was preparing for this year's Christmas class, I realized I had more than enough stamp sets to work with. Originally, I was going to do 20 cards, 4 designs of 5 cards. Instead, my customers did 20 cards, 5 designs of 4 cards. I love how each of them turned out!!! In fact, one of them will be my personal Christmas card, just using different colors. This card was not made by me. In fact, my upline sent it as a swap last year. I decided to incorporate it into the class for a few reasons: (1) To highlight the use of blender pens with ink or watercolor pencils and (2) I loved the different fold.

This card is so simple, yet so elegant. I couldn't help but CASE (copy and share everything) this from Josee Smuck's blog.

Although there is a Christmas greeting on this card, it really can be used for any occasion.
I have to thank this wonderful demonstrators blog for this CASE.

I sure am glad I ordered this set and punch. Coordinating punches are awesome!

My husband thought this card was too busy, but I liked how it looks.

My sister is deployed so I made her some notecards to send to those who sent her care packages. They were real easy & quick to make. I used the Hero jumbo wheel and the Service & Sacrifice stamp set. My son did such a great job of selling popcorn for his Boy Scout troop! He even reached his goal of earning the bow & arrow set. I made these thank you's for him to give out as he delivers the orders. I have to thank Joy for her recent swaps because one of her cards was my inspiration!

Yes, I am AWFUL at keeping up with this blog! The family blog has top priority these days. Often times I am just not in the mood to stamp. First Communion Thank You

What is Stampin' Up! doing to "go green?"

In the January edition of Stampin' Success, we learned of Stampin' Up!'s efforts to "go green" during this time of eco-conscious practices. Here is how they contribute:
RUBBER
Rather than dumping our excess rubber in a landfill, we donate itto Courage Reins, a nonprofit organization that provides horsebackriding therapy for physically or mentally challenged children. Theytake our ground rubber and sell it to groups and individuals for usein playgrounds and horse stables. The money they receive from thesale of this rubber goes to fund their programs. WOOD BLOCKS
Our wood blocks are not only created from a renewable resource,we engage in a sustainable practice to get those wood blocks. We work with a tree farm in which the maple trees are grown specifically for the purpose of harvesting wood!

CARD STOCK & PAPER
You’re probably already aware that the paper we use for shipping is100 percent recycled. But did you know that our card stock includes recycled material? It’s true! Our card stock includes recycled paper that’s left over from other paper runs, which would otherwise end up in a landfill. The darker the color of card stock, the more recycled material is in the card stock. (Who would have thought that Basic Black was our greenest color?) In addition, we work with a paper broker who ensures that the mills we use for our Designer Series paper and card stock engage in environmentally friendly practices. Our broker is even certified through the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), the ForestStewardship Council (FSC), and the Program for the Endorsement ofForestry Certification (PEFC). These certifications help us know thatour paper comes from sustainably managed forests and mills that are taking steps to lessen their carbon footprint. One of our mills even generates its own power.

OUR BUILDINGS
We are very fortunate to have wonderful facilities at Stampin’ Up! that help us reduce our environmental impact. First, systems in both the Riverton and Kanab buildings filter any pollutants that may result from stamp production. Second, our buildings were designed with energy conservation in mind. Both buildings have geothermal wells, which help us maintain building temperature, cutting down on our use of heating oil or natural gas. In addition, all lights are on sensors and timers, so we don’t waste electricity when employees are away from the office. In our desert climate here in Utah, it’s also extremely important that we watch our water use. For this reason, we’ve incorporated native, water-wise plants in our landscaping. If you’ve visited the home office, you may have noticed that we have wildflowers growing in front of our
building instead of grass! Our sprinkler system is timed to minimize evaporation, which helps reduce the amount of water we use to maintain our landscape. Indoors, artificial plants mingle in with the live ones in the area around our atrium water feature. This allows us to have a lush garden while minimizing the amount of water we use.

CARBON FOOTPRINT
At Stampin’ Up!, we strive to reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible. This means that we try to engage in shipping practices that will require fewer greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, to be released into the atmosphere. First, UPS picks up shipments from our Distribution Center each day during nonpeak traffic hours. This cuts down the amount of gasoline UPS needs to use to get our orders out the door. You can learn about what UPS is doing to make their practices more eco-friendly at http://sustainability.ups.com/. For stamp shipments from Kanab to Riverton, we “carpool” with companies who are sending shipments from the Salt Lake City area to Kanab. For example, Sysco delivers food to Kanab and surrounding towns and, normally, their trucks would return empty to Salt Lake City. Instead of driving back without cargo, Sysco trucks bring stamps from Kanab to Riverton! As you know, one of our guiding principles at Stampin’ Up! is Change, and with that principle in mind, we are always looking for ways to improve our business practices to do what’s right for our demonstrators, employees, community, and environment.

I am absolutely POSITIVE I am not alone in this! For me, each card has to be just right...call it being picky. I NEVER want my customers leaving my house feeling as if they got ripped off, that my cards don't look thought out, or the class was just thrown together. First Holy Communion Invitation

My son's First Holy Communion is coming up, and I wanted to make the invitations. Unfortunately, I don't have any cross-shaped stamps, so I had to improvise. I just added a little bit of stamping using Baroque Motifs. It's kind of hard to tell, but the card is backed in Night of Navy cardstock and I used the same color organdy ribbon.

Recently, my Aunt and Uncle celebrated 50 years together! They had an anniversary dinner that was equivalent to a wedding reception complete with the original wedding topper and all! It was truly amazing to see their last 50 years together in a scrapbook compiled by their daughter. It sure makes you realize how quickly time goes. The card I made them HAD to incorporate gold since it is the "Golden" anniversary. It was a one take card, which is rare for me! I used Baroque Motifs and embossed in gold. The colors used were, black, gold and white.

My Open House for the Spring~Summer Idea Book & Catalog is on Saturday. The theme is Cocoa and Catalogs. I am ALL about themes for every celebration, so when I saw Terri's idea, I knew it was perfect for my Open House. Of course, I will be serving cocoa on Saturday, but I thought it'd also be great to have the guests get to take some home! Here is the make and take they will do. Thanks to Kimmie, I made this cute hot cocoa cover. I had the hardest time figuring out everything from colors to covers for this make and take. Having very little, current designer series paper to work with, I had to choose a neutral stamp set to make my own background. The catalog was helpful when choosing a color scheme. I really liked the colors on page 37 of the catalog, so I went with it. I am pleased with the final product, even though I do wish I had some DSP to work with!

Birthday invites & thank you's

My son's birthday always surprises me each year now that he is in school. Since it's in early January, I have to get the invitations delivered before winter break begins. It seems a friend is the one who usually reminds me of this, so then I am rushed to whip up something. My son is into fishing right now, but I don't have any stamp sets even remotely close to keep up with that theme. SO, I knew I REALLY, REALLY wanted to keep it simple (and general) this time. I ended up using the Let's Party stamp set and retired DSP. I did get a few compliments, so I must have done a good job!

I just like using the star punches! They are easy & fun and can go with ANY theme!

This year's Christmas card

It's been a few years, but I coordinated our Christmas cards with our Christmas outfits again. My daughter is in the cutest pink, gray and vanilla plaid dress, so that's our color scheme. I decided to make a pocket card and use photo corners to place the wallet right on the pull-out part.

I completed the pens before working on the notepads, so I chose to coordinate both. I wrapped up the pair and put them in medium cello bags. A few sold for $3 each.

Small nugget tins

These little fellas did pretty well at the craft fair. I am SO glad I decided to make this size as well as the large. I sold them for $4/tin. For a few, I added rub-ons, which turned out to be just the right addition! As you can see here, the ribbon in the holiday mini catalog was the perfect width to add to a few of these tins.

Well, I thought these nugget tins turned out great! I am so proud of how they look PLUS they were fun to make. I really enjoyed preparing for my first craft show. Unfortunately, not a single one of the large nugget tins sold. That's a bit disappointing. They'd make yummy stocking stuffers! I guess I know what EJ will be giving to his teachers this year!

Just some general and birthday tins. I wouldn't mind receiving one of these homemade gifts!

I decided to do some tins with tealight candles just in case someone didn't like chocolate (do those people really exist?). I wrapped the tealights in DSP to make them look nicer and added a divider.

More craft fair items

This will be an item just to illustrate one of the many ways you can use decor elements. I know many of these boxes have been done already, but I still jumped on the band wagon. I think they are really nice.

This shadow box isn't for sale either. If someone wants to "order" it, then I will go ahead and make another one. So, I realize that as I am using the decor elements for the first time since convention, I am not very good at it!! You can't tell in this picture, but the words are crooked. You don't even want to know what I did to the Season of Thanks one in the above picture!!

A craft fair just wouldn't be the same without reindeer food!

This was a project that we did at a Rotating Hostess meeting last year.

I just happened to have a few leftover, so I filled them with Reese's peanut butter cups.

I used retired Designer Series Paper (DSP) in the inside of these RSVP pens.

With the added ribbon at the top, my 7-year old thinks I can get $1/pen!

My Christmas Swaps

Before moving, I held a Christmas stamp-a-stack at my house. We made five of each design for $25. These are the cards from that event. It seems I was in a blue and red/chocolate mood, but I still like how they turned out. For our family Christmas cards, I am going to do the the snowflake card but use our colors this year. They are: pink, silver, gray and white.

WOW! It's been awhile since I last posted...so sorry about that! We had ALOT going on and, unfortunately, this blog wasn't top priority. I am finally feeling organized so I plan on updating you with more photos and ideas regularly (for me that would be about twice a week). Anyway, I am SO excited to be participating in my VERY FIRST craft fair! I've been busy prepping for Saturday, December 6th because it'll be here before I know it! Here are just a few things I've been working on:
These are brag books using the clear envelopes. This is a real easy project. For further directions, visit Stampin with the Goddess' tutorial.

I knew I had to make Snowman Soup for the fair. Who doesn't love this cute idea? I liked adding the items to the bucket and just doing a little bit of stamping. Aren't they cute?
About a year ago, I found a bunch of these 4"x6" magnetic frames on sale at Target. They were only 48 cents for 2! Today I could only find them for $1 each.

This is a CD holder she made where she sent all her pics from Convention! Isn't she sweet?
I love how Dana cut out the butterflies for this card. It really makes the card.

New catalog class projects

My inspiration for this class were the three stamp sets we received in our bags at Convention. I am trying to be mindful about using what I already have, and I thought the perfect way to do so was to focus on those three sets. The class was two cards, one bag, and one 12x12 layout for $12.

I found this tutorial explaining how to make this cute bag. It's so easy!

I used three techniques on the above card: rock and roll on the cut-out flower, faux silk for the background and I dyed white grosgrain ribbon using the Not Quite Navy ink pad. Ms. Mary Polcin showed us how to do that at Convention!

Thank you, Jeanne, for reminding me about posting this song! You guys are going to LOVE this! We had the BEST entertainment at Convention, including these guys - Tonic Sol Fa, an a cappella group. They use their voices to sound like instruments.

Their performance was truly amazing and if you ever get the chance to see them, I would recommend it. I highly doubt they would sing THIS SONG outside of a Stampin' Up!(R) Convention, so get ready to laugh!

HELLO, everyone! I had the most AWESOME time at my very FIRST Stampin' Up! Convention. We were truly spoiled by this company...and I love it! The theme: Celebrate '08 and we really did!

HIGHLIGTS for ME at this year's Convention:
~ Learning SO much from my fellow demonstrators
~ Hanging out with the girls!
~ Seeing the first $1 million in sales demonstrator, Mary Polcin
~ The entertainment was a blast! The Stampin' Up! band, TonicSolFa on awards night had me laughing so hard. Hey, I wonder if Steve (Tami White's hubby) recovered from the jokes!
~ Receiving an extra FREE stamp set from UPS! Thanks, Brown Sugar! OH, Convention Barbie was GREAT. I'd love to have one of those.
~ Realizing that I am with the best company EVER!

4 - Inside the Riverton building, this is where your order gets started. All by the barcode on the side of the box! That box makes it way around the building and as it passes an item from that order, a light goes on alerting a worker to add that item. Cool, huh?
5 - I met Shelli Gardner, Co-founder and CEO of Stampin' Up! She is amazing (and terribly nice).
6 - Look at those YUMMY cupcakes that were in the middle of our lunch tables on Day #1. Not only did we receive a TON of food in our lunch box, but there were extras everyday. We had cupcakes, popcorn & taffy, and ice cream. Yes, I enjoyed all of it! LOL!

Tomorrow is the day...my very first Stampin' Up! Convention. Even though I've been a demonstrator since July 2005, I have not had the opportunity to experience this awesome event. Convention swaps

This first swap is using the Garden Whimsy stamp set and a technique called SPOTLIGHTING. I love the black, white, and gray combination with Lovely Lilac! To ensure that this sample wouldn't take forever to make, I only made 50 and didn't use any accessories. You can add ribbon underneath the tulips, if you choose.

The awesome group that I am part of, is having a get together next Friday night at our hotel. I only had to make 20 of these for the swap, so I was able to add more accessories. It turned out pretty cute using the color combo of Chocolate Chip, Elegant Eggplant, and Always Artichoke. This is the True Friend stamp set, Boho Friend wheel, Chocolate Chip 5/8" ribbon, Ice circle rhinestones, and, if you look closely, I did do the ROCK and ROLL technique on the layer behind the words.

I am still here! I know I am not as good as posting daily as other demonstrator's are, but I am always here in thought! Last weekend I had a Retirement party that wasn't really a party at all. I only had one friend come...typical for me. I try, I really do! I offer LOTS of specials, have make-and-takes (notice the plural) AND yummy snacks! I don't know what else to do to get more bodies at my house. BUT...

I AM SO EXCITED Convention is less than a week away! I believe that by being there, my motivation will be through the roof! That will help me tremendously with my upcoming move. To be honest, getting customers is the most difficult part of this job. Learning how to get and maintain customers will be a focus over the next few months. Moving is hard because you lose that customer base you've built over a few years.

Anyway...I will post the two cards from the party that wasn't and I am currently finishing up my swaps. I decided to just swap 50 cards at my first Convention. Our group is having a get together on Friday night and I am making 20 swaps for that. Those pics will be posted when I have better lighting. See ya soon!

Hostess Appreciation

I hosted my very first Hostess Appreciation party today and we had fun! Even though all my hostesses were not able to attend, the ones that did enjoyed playing BINGO. Originally it was supposed to be a BUNCO, but I didn't have enough to play. Luckily, my upline gave me the BINGO idea and it worked well. Prizes were given for the following BINGO patterns: Diagonal, Railroad, Inside Frame, Outside Frame, Four Corners, and Full House. The ladies got to choose from a basket for some of the wins and the ones that won for Full House, Four Corners and Outside Frame got Stampin' Up!(R) bucks.

After playing BINGO, the ladies made two make-and-take projects. The first one was a Pop Up card. When I saw THIS card, I knew I had to CASE it...thanks Dawn! Luckily, my newest downline, has been letting me borrow this stamp set. I really do like it!

The other project was a potpourri bag.

I made some appetizers and desserts. They included: sweet and sour meatballs, mushrooms, two dips in bread bowls, fruit salad, chocolate chip cookies, and (saving the best for last) Paula Deen's recipe for Not Yo' Mama's Banana Pudding. This one is worth trying! Let me know what you think!

When everyone completed the projects, I gave the hostesses their gift from me. Earlier in the week, I asked each of them their favorite Stampin' Up!(R) color(s). Based on that, I made them their own monogram cards and bag. These bags are so simple. Follow THIS tutorial to learn how to make them.

During this time, I thanked this wonderful group for all the fun I've had with them over the last few years. It's so sad that this year we will be moving, but I know I am leaving them in good hands (I mean you, Selena). Thanks, guys, for being the best stampers and choosing to stamp with me!

Two workshop projects

Yesterday was the last meeting of my very first Rotating Hostess Club. I had an awesome time with this group of ladies. I feel like we've become close and I enjoy spending time with them. It makes this "job" fun! Here are the two projects that were done:
PROJECT 1: 6x6 scrapook page

Recipe
Stamp set: Just B
Paper: Rose Red DSP, Regal Rose, Whisper White (WW)
Ink: Rose Red & Regal Rose
Accessories: Ice Brads, flower from Flower Fusion tin

Here I wanted to show how to take that 6x6 page and transfer it onto a 12x12 layout. All I did was add more Rose Red DSP and added two layers of paper - the Regal Rose & Whisper White. It's really not as intimidating as it looks!

Using the same stamp set, I did a boy page using Blue Bayou DSP & Soft Sky paper.

Scrapbook Class

The first layout the ladies did at my class was pretty simple. The only stamping was for the title. I enjoyed using the designer series paper and star punches. The stars were a huge hit! Again, I LOVE this website and her ideas. My inspiration can be found HERE.

For the photos I wanted to use, I had to change the layout from the class. Here is my final product (before journaling).
This second layout was inspired by THIS template. I may CASE her whole layout using the Jersey Shore DSP to go along with the rest of my son's birthday photos. We used the Embrace Life stamp set and Ginger Blossoms DSP. The title is "I love being your MOM." The single flower was cut out and SU! glitter was added. It's hard to tell in this photo.

Swaps for Convention

Okay, ladies, I'm a newbie when it comes to swapping. I only participated once before at another demonstrators scrapbook retreat, but I am sure that the swapping at Convention is MUCH more intense. Here's what I need from you:
1 - Can we start making swaps now even before the retired list is out?

2 - What kind of swaps go on at Convention?

3 - Your guess as to how many I should prepare. I know this is up to me, so what is your average?

4 - Any other advice here!

I took the plunge, the Stampin' Up! Convention plunge! I am so excited that I decided to attend this year's celebration in Salt Lake City. The hubby is watching the kids for 5 days, 4 nights as I venture out to Utah to get motivated, inspired, and have some fun! This is the first time I've ever been to convention and I really do think this is what I need to do for my business. I haven't had that "official" training and it's time after three years! Here I come, SLC!

Mother's Day gift idea

For my Rotating Hostess club this month, I decided to stick with the same stamp set for both projects. I liked the idea of having the card coordinate with the box and vice versa.

One Sheet Wonder Class

I've never actually made cards using a one sheet wonder (OSW) template before. Last year, I completed a 6x6 scrapbook using the same technique and that is only thanks to my good friend, Joy. When she visited, she introduced me to this wonderful, easy, quick way of getting those cards or scrapbooks done.

To make the cards below, all you do is take one piece of 8 1/2" x 11" neutral cardstock, random stamp on it using various colors, and cut it into pieces using a template. Click this link to see the template I used. You get 10 cards just from using this one piece of paper. Here are my cards for this weekend's class. As you will see, I added layers and embellishments to dress-up the cards.

Big Buckle Card

I am still here! Here is a nice change of pace from the usual fold. It's called a Big Buckle card and I thought the Sassy Suzie stamp set worked great for this. The slot punch is what gives this card the buckle look. If you want to try this card, check out this great tutorial.

Punched Photo Corners/Joy Fold Card

1 - Using the 5-petal punch, punch out cardstock2 - I used the 1-3/8" punch to continue to the next step3 - Line up two petals of the punched flower with the corner of the 1-3/8" punch and once it looks even, punch out your corner

Since I love using the double-sided designer series paper that Stampin' Up!(R) sells, I thought you might be inclined to try them too if you knew which colors coordinated. No Stamp Ginger Blossom Frame

Like this altered wood frame from Michael's? It cost just $1. All I did was trace the frame onto the Ginger Blossom designer paper (DP) and added very vanilla ribbon and flowers that also came from Michael's. I glued it down with Mod Podge. The flowers have a Blush Blossom eyelet in the middle.

Garden Whimsy

I've been working on this spread since last night and I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. What do you think? This layout was my inspiration. I love it, but I didn't want to cut my photos. I desperately wanted to showcase the red popsicle and my daughter's striking baby blue's, but I didn't just want to do a red, white & blue layout. I ended up using 12x12 glossy paper, stamped the images in Versamark and sponged with the pastels. Also, I embossed the black circles and title. This was a messy project! I smudged the cardstock in a few places, but I was already too far into the project to redo the whole thing!

Here is a layout I made for a class I had, so all I had to do was add photos. WOW! That was SO easy and a relief. I am known to spend hours on one layout...yes, I am a perfectionist! There's one more layout I added photos to this week and I'll upload that in a little while.

A little bit about this layout: It was made using a Simply Scrappin' kit entitled Just Delightful. It is now retired, but, as you can see, these kits are a breeze to use. I highly recommend them to get scrapbook pages done quickly!

Ahoy Matey Invitation/Thank You

These are the invitations and thank you's I made for my son's 7th birthday party. Both cards are made using the Ahoy Matey stamp set. The invitation is a tri-fold card and the inside was printed from the computer. I found the pattern paper at Hobby Lobby and Michael's.

Mailboxes

I decided to finish the extra mailboxes I bought. This is a fast, easy, and fun project to do. You can make it more intricate by stamping your own pattern paper, but I like the look of the designer paper. I used Berry Bliss DP and last year's Loves Me DP to decorate both the boxes and candy. Here is a great tutorial that describes how to decorate the mailboxes.
