Swaps for Convention

Okay, ladies, I'm a newbie when it comes to swapping. I only participated once before at another demonstrators scrapbook retreat, but I am sure that the swapping at Convention is MUCH more intense. Here's what I need from you:
1 - Can we start making swaps now even before the retired list is out?

2 - What kind of swaps go on at Convention?

3 - Your guess as to how many I should prepare. I know this is up to me, so what is your average?

4 - Any other advice here!

Drop me an email if that would be easier ( Any information would be SO helpful to me!

Woo Hoo! I, too, can't wait for convention. Sure - you can make swaps before the retired list comes out - we know stamps will be around at least 12 months. Any new sets from January are guaranteed not to retire. But, you do run the risk of using an accessory or something that may retire. Using retired product is a no-no. I'm with you - I'm anxious to start my swaps. But, I'll be more upset if I get them done only to have to pull them apart to replace ribbon or something. Every kind of swap imaginable goes on at convention. Card swaps are obviously the most popular. There are 6x6 scrapbook page swaps and 3D swaps. You'll see a little of everything. Some groups will form organized groups, but I've always just swapped randomly with everyone else. I made 300 last year or something crazy like that. It was a lot of work, I was tired of carrying them around by the third day and will be making fewer this year - maybe 150-200. But, it's up to you - people certainly make more than 300! It's all a matter of how many you want to make and get back in return! Hope that helps. Good luck and hope to see you in SLC!!!
